Based in Britain, AFT manufactures a range of components for the glass industry and with it's contracts division is also involved in glass-furnace building and repair Worldwide. Within the company, the expertise in the field of furnace design and construction is considerable. Besides involvement in the more common furnace configurations (container, tableware etc.) AFT has, over the years, built furnaces for the production of fibre, borate phials, tube etc. indeed, small experimental furnaces have become somewhat of a speciality.

AFT has a manufacturing facility in Retford England where AFT's products are designed and made. At the Retford location there are facilities for Refractory Cutting and Drilling, Welding and Fabrication, Refractory Casting, Electrical and Electronic Design and Assembly.
